Contrast Photography: Professional Photography

We like to think that Contrast Photography and the CYO Cross Country Championships go hand in hand. We had three photographers covering the Belmont Plateau to capture pictures of as many of the athletes as possible.

We still need to edit and upload the THOUSANDS (7941 if you’re counting) of photos from the day, but all the photos will be available at the Contrast Photography “Photo Store”.

We admit it, at Contrast Photography, we’re big fans of the Oxon Hill Road Runner (Oxon Hill Boys & Girls Club). Maybe it’s the cool colors that mimic our Contrast blue and yellow. Oxon Hill is part of the Prince Georges County Boys and Girls Club program.

It’s also because Oxon Hill is one of our first (possibly our first???) Maryland based client. We started working with their track and field program in 2003 and through the years we worked with the soccer, basketball, football and cheerleading programs and for 2008 we’re providing our brand of customized and personalized photo products to all of the OHBGC athletic programs.

We’ve been working with the Enon Eagles since they started their Athletic Ministry. Michael Brown runs the Enon Eagles Pop Warner program and does a fantastic job.

It’s nice seeing these kids grow up in sports and in the church, especially since I’ve seen a lot of these kids since the very beginning.

We photographed half of the Kennett-Unionville Titans Youth Football and Cheerleading program today. 8 Teams, 250 images and man was it HOT. The Titans organization really runs a great program and we got to see some of our friends from the CYO Track and Field program as well which is always fun.

Here are a few images from the day. The flag football team was the funniest team I’ve been around in a long time. They all competed to see who was the “ugliest” and would break my camera by looking at it.

We’ve been working with the Plymouth Whitemarsh football program since 2002, proving team and individual service in addition to game action services (specifically for their seniors). PW has one of (if not the) best fields in the Philadelphia area. We photographed the full team, all the individuals as well as each class (Seniors, Juniors, etc). The Parents Club will use the images in the program and on the PW website.

Today was our Fall Sports Training Session and we had a FULL staff of photographers, sales associates and assistants at the field early to over our plans for the season.

In post production I’m testing out a new process, some will know this as the “Dave Hill” look…pioneered by photographer DAVE HILL

This was the first time I’ve shot RAW files in a LONG time, but it makes the conversion of the files a bit easier since all of the raw data is still there for us to manipulate. I LOVE this look and we’ll probably try to incorporate this into some new products this fall. Let me know what you think about it….
